Junkyard Quote #2 week 1

“Yes, Halloween excites me. That whole time of year, autumn, I find exhilarating. A passionate season. The others are so bland. In the fall, you see opportunities for change. Real change. Possibilities present themselves. None of the renewal and redemption cliches of spring. No. Something darker and more primal and more important than that.”
Alice LaPlante (Turn of Mind author)

  1. This is a time when things die, but they die so beautifully. The tree leaves turn purple, amber, golden, yellow, brown, tan... and then wither to crispy bones. Poetic, ritualistic and, yes, very primal. Lovely quote

  2. Holy shit! I saw this quote and it totally sums up my love for Autumn. Like you don't understand how much I love it; I am a happier person during this season. It's magic to me.

I wondered where you got this quote from that mirrors my love of Autumn and I realized that I had just rented this book from the library! Crazy coincidence. So I'm guessing it's good?

  3. It is really good. It also throws the idea that you are going to die in your face. Especially since she is back and forth with being lucid. It's weird the things she remembers as opposed to others. But this book I think is interesting with style to with what we have been talking about. It's choppy and back and forth like her mind right now.

    1. I started to read it before you posted this quote but I had to stop myself because it reminded too much of a book I had read before and fell in love with. I thought if I read this that it would make me like the other book a little less.

    1. Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson. It's also about a woman who has trouble with memory loss and writes in a journal to help her remember things, except her memory loss was brought on by a car accident.
