So, in the classroom we talked about the maggot. When we were asked to describe the maggot, I came up with some descriptors that really were not up to par. However, when we let out of class, my mind came up with better ideas that made me think of a maggot. This is what I finally came up with:
The maggot is a worker breaking through concrete in search for underground water.
I thought
about how the maggot eats through the layers of dead things. Bone
reminded me of concrete because they are both hard and white. Water is
the life source in what we need to survive, and for the maggot this corpse is its own life source. Finally, maggots work tirelessly in devouring this dead thing, so they became a worker in my mind.
I hope this fits like I hope it does because a maggot isn't usually seen as a worker.
I loved that you connected bone with concrete. Now that you've pointed it out I see that they are similar but I never would have thought of them like that.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of breaking through concrete and searching for underground water.
